Muskies Gone Wild
Well I`ve had charters all week and it`s been the same thing everyday anywhere from 5 to 7 fish so I haven`t listed a report.. Today though was unreal no hits for the first 4 hours of the charter than all hell broke loose. We had 27 fish on in the next 4 hours and boated 17 of them.. I`ve done these numbers many times before but what was amazing was the quality of these fish 2 over 30 pounds the biggest a 52 inch 33 pound beauty. I don`t know how many we had over 44 inches maybe half. It was just awesome 4 or 5 double headers.. All the fish were caught on little gotchas smoke`in hot set up was 2 oz. 40ft back off a planner board... 10oz. - 10ft back on a down rod.. Good to see the Lake St. Clair Muskie are still alive and doing well.. tight lines Capt. Craig Miller (www.heatwavecharters.com)
Much better day
As promised I fished Tues. 7/3 on the Canadian side by the red barn.. The water color was just awesome the weeds blew out and I was marking big hooks everything seemed perfect.. For the first hour it was we boated 2 of the first 4 on but lost a really nice fish that was just screaming line out.. Then thing slowed up for the remainder of the charter, and we just picked away at them.. We ended up landing 4 out of the 7 muskies we had on and also got a bonus smallmouth and a 7 pound walleye.. Not so bad I was happy to get that muskie smell back into the boat.. Lures was a mixed bag couple on small gotchas, couple on tuff shads, lokes, ziggy and a bucktail each went once..
